I'LL BE PROUD AT WEMBLEY
Read City captain Louis Carey's exclusive website blog, only on bcfc.co.uk.
I remember writing recently about the Hartlepool play-off game in 2004 and the atmosphere that night. Well Tuesday well and truly eclipsed that - with two hours of non-stop noise. A lot of lads here will never forget that.
The pitch invasion wasn't as bad as the Rotherham one from last season. It was more excitement than job done. A couple of the lads made it in nice and quick this time around with clothes on!
I've been fielding calls left, right and centre from people about Wembley tickets. It's an absolute nightmare. Of course I'll sort out my family and close friends, but I'm getting calls from people who I haven't heard from in ages, those coming out of the woodwork. I've been following you for years, they tell me.
I've obviously played at the old Wembley, but never been to the new one. I've seen it on television and I'd be a very proud man to lead the team out there.
I've never been club captain for a final at this club, so it will be emotional for me. I still get the hairs on the back of my neck stand up for normal games, so who knows what it will be like next Saturday.
I'm not over-confident or anything like that, but I have visualized the steps at Wembley and lifting the trophy. Hopefully that kind of psychology can get you through the game and puts in perspective what is at stake.
Finally I wrote this blog before heading away to our "secret" destination. To get away from everything is great to relax the players.
Fan Question: Interesting choice of pink trousers which you wore on the award nights, why do you love pink so much? Isn't it a touch of a girly colour? Jess Fitzpatrick, Stockwood.
I like most things pink. Shaun Hosier, from West Street Glazing, promised me anything I wanted in the colour pink if we kept a clean sheet on Tuesday. Sadly that didn't happen, but there might be something for the final. We have a good laugh, Shaun and I, and in the last darts match I lost and had to go round to his house and cook a meal in a Scooby-Doo outfit. Unfortunately, I didn't get round to doing that, so he's planning for me to do a day's work with him sometime in the outfit instead. I do love pink though, it's fresh, it's bright and airy.
Fan Question: Thanks for such a great effort last night. My brother is now coming all the way from Seattle for the final. He has spent £1000 on a flight after the game and is only here for the weekend. I've not seen him for a couple of years, so thank you! Here's hoping he gets a City promotion to cheer! Tom Heywood, Bristol.
Thanks for your support Tom and I hope you enjoy your big day out at Wembley as much as we do. We'll be doing all we can to get the right result.
Enjoy your weekend and look out for some more blogs next week!
