IT'LL BE COMPETITIVE - GARY
Gary Johnson says Peterborough United will prove "competitive" opponents in the first round of the Carling Cup.
City have been drawn at home against the newly-promoted League One side in a tie that is likely to take place on Tuesday, August 12th (to be confirmed).
Gary told bcfc.co.uk: "It's a good draw. It's a home fixture and it will generate some interest bearing in mind Peterborough's manager Darren Ferguson is son of Sir Alex.
"They played well last season to get their promotion from League Two and it should prove to be very competitive match. I'm looking forward to it."
The tie will also give Gary the chance to meet up with his old friend Barry Fry, who is director of football at London Road.
Gary added: "I love Barry to death. We've been close for a long time, ever since we were local rivals when I was manager at Cambridge United.
"He's worked really hard at Peterborough and deserves all the success that comes his way."
Meanwhile, Gary will be one of the panellists on Sky Sports' Gillette Sports Saturday this weekend.
The City boss will be joined by presenter Ed Chamberlain and fellow guests on the show which reports and discusses the major sports stories of the weekend.
It will be broadcast on the Sky Sports News channel between 12 noon-6pm (Sky Digital 405, Freeview 83, Virgin - not available).
