Switchblade[UK] were the winners of the Bristol Evening Post's Rock The Gate competition. The unsigned local band will open for Bon Jovi at their Ashton Gate concert tonight from around 6pm.

People who have bought tickets through these official outlets will have no problems receiving their tickets when they are sent out prior to the concert. TRAVEL INFORMATION

Congestion is anticipated around the stadium especially at rush hour and the end of the concert. Please plan your journey accordingly.

ROAD CLOSURES (4-11PM, WEDNESDAY 25TH JUNE)

Marsh Road/Ashton Road will be closed to traffic (except to residents and business premises) between the junctions of Winterstoke Road and Duckmoor Road.

DIRECTIONS

Leave M5 at Junction 18A - the venue is signposted from all major routes into Bristol. Nearest rail: Bristol Temple Meads. Please allow plenty of time for your journey. The AA will provide signage from the major routes toward the stadium and park & ride facility.

PARKING

There will be very limited street parking around the ground. Be warned that a towaway scheme will be in operation. Bristol City Council will place "no parking cones" around the stadium and an area within the vicinity of Ashton Court (see below).

PARK AND RIDE

Official concert parking is available at the nearby Ashton Court estate between 1pm-late at a cost of £5 per vehicle. A number of spaces have been pre-booked and any remaining spaces will be available on a first-come, first-served basis on the day. The site will be patrolled by security officers and signposted as you get near the stadium. The stadium is within walking distance, but a free bus will take you to and from the concert if required. Be prepared to queue at busy periods. Please leave the venue immediately following the concert to return to the car park.

MISCELLANOUS

Gates will open at 4.30pm and Bon Jovi are expected to appear on stage between 8-8.30pm. All concert-goers are advised to arrive as early as possible.

Please retain your ticket stub to use as a "pass-out" from the stadium should this be required. Kiosks will serve hot/cold drinks and snack food. No glass bottles or alcohol to be brought into the stadium. Smoking restrictions apply. No video or audio recording equipment will be allowed inside the venue.
